New Thread
#1
Let's talk new threads in the games. These are going to be unique because fuck yea, why not!

First! Using xthreads to make the first post appear on every page of the thread.
  • this lets me add style functionality to the threads that will persist
  • it also has an option to only show on the new thread post, so the options won't be a bother in the replies
  • it gives me a chance to create a sort of ambience for the threads that people can utilize for fun off the wall rps

With that in mind, we need to figure out what fields we need there to be a new thread post. Here we go!

Thread Title
Game Maker
Rating - L/S/V rating system
Genre
Subgenre
Keywords
Setting
Time of Day (Maybe pick a symbol?)
Plot
Character Limit
Thread Status (Private/Open/Full/Closed/Complete/Dead)
Post Speed (Live, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Custom?)
Game Type (One on One, One Shot, Short Term, Long Term, Player Game)

Thumbnail (for the threadview, but hidable on the thread?)
Hide Thumbnail on Thread?
Background Color
Background Image (Have a dropdown of options. changes background of form when selected as a preview)
Custom Background Image
Highlight Color? (Maybe changes with the background as preset to look good with the bg color scheme, but this overrides that)
Highlight Color 2? (The number of options will depend on the ultimate layout i go with)
Template (The optional templates for the threads. Right now leaning toward minimal -> miniprofile -> img light profile -> img heavy profile)

I think that covers it? Should I do a short description? Nah, there are keywords.

It occurs to me that this can be something people choose for themselves as to what they want to see in the regular areas, but the game makers can put a "preference" on there. Default option will prioritize the template that the thread creator chooses, but people can override it so that all of the threads appear with the template of their choice. Also have and option where people can toggle on whether player games can override their overrides. If that makes sense!

minimal -> miniprofile -> img light profile -> img heavy profile

Minimal Icon - Minimal No Icon
Minimals will be just simple strips with(out) a 100x100 icon. Maybe just the character name, a link to the sheet, and a way to pm the poster.

Miniprofile Sticky - Miniprofile Classic
This one will be a standard big avatar miniprofile hover type of template that you might see on a standard site today

Img Light Profile - Img Heavy Profile
One of those that might look more simple but open up to pretty much show everything the character has to offer. This would have an option for people that want to have a lot of images without hurting the people that don't. Maybe this one is just listed at "Detailed" or something along those lines and then the version of the profile that shows will depend on whether the person filled all the image options on the character sheet.

Random Plot Generator

So, it will obviously have limited options at first that will grow, but I could get members to help me put ideas in the machine. Basically, have an option on the new thread that will randomly input things into the inputs. Maybe even just put a randomizer on each input separately. And with a click of the button a random setting or plot or whatever will populate. Could have and option that is a blind randomize, where everything is generated but hidden before posting, so you don't know what it is until you actually see it.

Also, single player mode? Let players make prompts and create full on stories as their character. Why the fuck not? Works like character development.
